Let's Get You Writing That Story! with Jay Martin
Come join local writer Jay Martin to pick up and practice your creative writing skills.
These sessions will provide a fun, engaging and supportive environment to engage or re-engage with your writing and other local writers. Each session will include some formal theory about what makes for good writing, the opportunity to look at some examples, as well as time to practice and share your writing – for those who are interested.
They are designed for people with a range of skills and backgrounds – so if you have a specific writing project in mind, feel free to bring along your thoughts, and get some ideas for how to develop it.
Equally, if you’re just interested in getting into or back into journalling or writing for yourself – perhaps as part of your daily practice to manage stress and build confidence – feel free to come along for some extra inspiration and motivation, and to meet other like-minded people.
About Jay:
Jay’s debut book, VODKA AND APPLE JUICE, a memoir about being an (un)diplomatic wife in Poland, was published by Fremantle Press in 2018. Her second book BOOMTOWN SNAP is being released in May. Jay’s short-form writing has been featured in European and Australian publications including the Warsaw Insider and Warsaw Business Journal, and she has been an invited guest at literary events in Australia and Canada. She designs and facilitates writing workshops and programs
around Western Australia.
Note: If you’re not able to attend all 4 sessions there is the
option to buy a casual class pass. Please contact the office before doing so to check if any casual spots available.
