About Maureen:
Maureen was born in Montreal, Canada and migrated to Sydney, Australia in 2005 with her husband and two cats before settling in Perth in 2006. From an early age, she showed a passion for both art and science leading her to become a self-taught artist in her late twenties and fulfilling a life long dream by becoming a medical doctor in 2010.
She expresses her joie de vivre in her dynamic nature based works and her sense of curiosity inspires her to push the boundaries of creativity. “What if...?” is a question that constantly and happily floats around in her active mind. Harking back to her roots in Canada, she returned to teaching art in 2018 at various venues throughout Perth, finding joy in inspiring others to discover their inner artist. She has participated in many group shows both here and in Canada with her works held in private collections throughout the world. She looks forward to a long and successful creative career in her adopted home, Australia and hopes to eventually know the names of all of the flora in this magnificent country!
